Christine Tagle’s family trip to Disney World Florida turned into a terrifying ordeal when her five-year-old son, Ernesto, passed out on a rollercoaster ride. The incident occurred on September 21, when Christine and her family boarded the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, expecting a fun-filled adventure.
However, just 20 seconds into the ride, Ernesto suddenly lost consciousness. Christine was left to finish the ride in a state of panic, unsure of what was happening to her son. It was later revealed that Ernesto’s heart had stopped beating.
Christine shared her harrowing experience on the Walt Disney World Tips and Tricks Facebook group, where she recounted the events that unfolded after the ride came to an end. She explained how she pulled Ernesto out of the ride, screaming for help, and how the Disney staff directed her to a hallway where she began administering CPR.
Thanks to the quick thinking of Christine and the assistance of a nurse and an EMT who happened to be at the scene, Ernesto’s life was saved. The couple, who were strangers to the family, played a crucial role in keeping Ernesto stable until the paramedics arrived.
Christine has expressed her gratitude to the Disney staff and the heroic couple who helped save her son’s life. She has also urged everyone to get certified in CPR, emphasizing its importance in life-or-death situations like the one her family faced.
After undergoing multiple tests, doctors diagnosed Ernesto with a genetic heart condition called catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. This condition explained the sudden medical emergency that occurred on the rollercoaster ride.
Ernesto’s family has shared updates on his recovery, and fortunately, he is doing well after surgery. His father has also shared a message with others, emphasizing the importance of getting CPR certified and being prepared for unexpected emergencies.
