A Daughter’s Revenge: Uncovering the Truth

My world turned upside down when my dad introduced me as his housekeeper to his new girlfriend, Martha. I felt betrayed and hurt, but I knew I had to teach him a lesson.

After Mom passed away, Dad and I became inseparable. We relied on each other, and I helped him with household chores. When he started dating again, I supported him, even assisting with his online profile.

But that night, everything changed. Dad’s nervous introduction and Martha’s condescending tone sparked something within me. I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I cleaned the messy bedroom, seething with anger. But then, an idea struck me. I would expose Dad’s dishonesty and show Martha that I wasn’t just a housekeeper.

With a mischievous grin, I walked back into the living room and dropped a bombshell. “Last night wasn’t as hot as the day before yesterday, Mr. Daniel,” I said, implying that Dad had been with someone else.

Martha’s face turned red with rage, and she demanded to know who Jessica was. Dad stuttered, unable to respond. Martha stormed out, slamming the door.

Dad looked at me, shocked and helpless. “Clara, why did you do that?” he asked.

I stood firm, arms crossed. “You lied about me, Dad. If you’re going to date, be honest.”

To my surprise, Dad started laughing, and soon we were both giggling uncontrollably. The tension melted away, replaced by our familiar bond.

“Really, Dad, someone like her? She’s annoying!” I teased.

Dad shrugged, looking sheepish. “She didn’t like kids. I shouldn’t have lied.”

I rolled my eyes. “If someone doesn’t like kids, they’re not worth your time.”

Dad promised to be honest from now on, and we sealed our pact with a hug.

As we ordered pizza and watched a movie, I realized that sometimes, tough love is necessary. Dad learned a valuable lesson: honesty is always the best policy, especially when it comes to those you love.
In the end, our bond grew stronger, and I knew that no matter what, we’d face life’s challenges together, as a team.
