I thought I’d found a peaceful haven when I moved into my new neighborhood with my eight-year-old son, Mike. But little did I know, our friendly neighbor Linda had a secret hobby – stealing packages from our porches.
At first, it was just small things. A toy for Mike, a book I’d ordered. But as time went on, the missing packages got bigger and more expensive. I tried to give Linda the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she was just confused. But as the incidents piled up, I realized she was intentionally taking our stuff.
The final straw came when a limited-edition Christmas ornament I’d ordered for my mom went missing. I was furious, and I knew I had to take action.
That’s when I came up with the perfect plan – a glitter bomb. I ordered a spring-loaded glitter bomb kit online, and when it arrived, I couldn’t wait to put it together.
I wrapped the glitter bomb in festive paper, wrote my name and address clearly on the front, and placed it on my porch in plain view. Then, I waited.
It didn’t take long for Linda to take the bait. A few hours later, I spotted her sneaking onto my porch, snatching the package, and scurrying back to her house.
The next morning, I woke up to the sound of screaming. I peeked out my window to see Linda covered head to toe in glitter, shaking the box like it was a live grenade.
She stormed over to my house, furious, but I just smiled sweetly and told her maybe she should stop stealing my packages if she didn’t want any more surprises.
The glitter bomb incident spread like wildfire through the neighborhood, and soon, other neighbors came forward with their own stories of stolen packages. Linda slunk away, embarrassed, and I haven’t had a single package go missing since.
Sometimes, a little creativity and sparkle can go a long way in teaching someone a lesson. And as for me, I’m just happy to have my packages – and my sanity – back.
