A Second Chance for Little Johnny

Little Johnny sat nervously in the principal’s office, wondering what the consequences of his actions would be. He had been kicked out of school for an incident in math class, and now he had to face the music.

The principal, a kind-hearted man with a firm demeanor, asked Johnny to explain what had happened. Johnny hesitated, feeling embarrassed, before admitting that he had gotten in trouble for not knowing the answer to a question.

The principal listened attentively, his expression sympathetic. He asked Johnny to recall the question, which was: “If I gave you twenty dollars, and you paid five dollars to Kate, five dollars to Sally, and five dollars to Linda, what would you have?”

Johnny replied that he would have nothing left, feeling ashamed of his mistake. But the principal surprised him with words of wisdom. “Even if you don’t have any money left, you still have something valuable – your integrity, your character, and your ability to learn from your mistakes.”

Johnny listened intently, feeling a sense of hope rising within him. The principal continued, “Getting kicked out of school is not the end of the world. It’s a chance for you to reflect on your actions, take responsibility for your choices, and strive to do better in the future.”

Johnny left the principal’s office feeling relieved and determined. He realized that he had made a mistake, but that didn’t define who he was as a person. With a newfound sense of purpose, Johnny vowed to learn from his experience and make amends for his actions.
