Some people think rules don’t apply to them – until reality teaches them otherwise. This became hilariously apparent when a self-important woman parked right in our delivery spot and refused to budge. Despite multiple polite requests, she insisted we find a way to unload our truck around her precious SUV. Challenge accepted.
Our team got creative. We positioned the delivery truck so close to her driver’s side door that she had to perform an awkward circus act to exit through the passenger side. Her angry muttering was music to our ears. When she finally confronted us, our driver cited safety regulations that prevented us from moving – the perfect legitimate excuse to keep her trapped in her self-made prison.
The situation reached peak comedy when parking enforcement showed up. In her frantic efforts to escape, she backed into a porta-potty and got her vehicle high-centered on the curb. The image of her sitting handcuffed on the sidewalk while we efficiently completed our delivery was almost too good to be true. It was a masterclass in how entitlement often leads to embarrassment, and how patience (ours) truly is a virtue (that she clearly lacked).
