Renowned American actor Richard Gere has parted ways with his stunning Connecticut estate, selling it for a whopping $10.95 million, as reported by PEOPLE. This move paves the way for his relocation to Spain, a decision driven by a desire to be closer to his wife’s family.
Gere, 75, purchased the New Canaan property in 2022 for $10.8 million, acquiring it from musical duo Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, who had originally bought it for $16.5 million. During his two-year tenure, Gere considered transforming the estate into a farm.
The majestic 1938 property boasts six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool, lush gardens, and a three-bedroom guest cottage, sprawled across 32 acres. Gere shared this picturesque haven with his wife, Alejandra Silva, 41.
As Gere embarks on his new journey in Spain, this sale marks a significant step. Married since 2018, the couple seeks to reconnect with Silva’s Spanish roots. This move follows Gere’s previous two marriages, signaling an exciting new chapter in his life.
