Trump Slams CBS Amid Claims of Interview Manipulation

Donald Trump has reignited his feud with CBS, demanding the network’s shutdown over what he calls a manipulated interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The dispute stems from a 60 Minutes segment aired in October, which Trump and his supporters argued was edited to portray Harris in a positive light. After legal pressure, CBS released the full, unedited interview. While some see no issue with the footage, Trump and his base view it as a scandal. In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump accused CBS of doctoring the interview by cutting out Harris’ poor responses and substituting them with better ones.

He went so far as to claim this alleged manipulation altered the outcome of the election, even though he defeated Harris in November 2024. Trump believes CBS engaged in election interference and fraud, calling for the network to lose its license. His accusations extend beyond CBS, linking the controversy to unfounded claims about government-funded media bias.

Experts note that the FCC cannot strip CBS of its license because networks operate differently from individual stations. Meanwhile, CBS defends its editing process, stating it was done purely for brevity and transparency.

With Trump’s FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, hinting at potential actions, the saga continues to unfold.
