New York Faces Legal Challenge from AG Pam Bondi Over Sanctuary Policies

In a significant move, Attorney General Pam Bondi has revealed that the DOJ is suing New York, Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, and DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder. The lawsuit alleges that New York’s sanctuary policies are undermining federal immigration enforcement, putting American citizens at risk.

Bondi pointed to the heartbreaking story of Tammy Nobles, who lost her daughter to an MS-13 gang member, as evidence of the dangers posed by these policies. She also mentioned that Illinois has faced similar legal action.

The DOJ is determined to hold states responsible for hindering immigration enforcement and dismantling criminal organizations. Bondi emphasized the department’s unwavering commitment to enforcing federal laws and protecting communities.
