When a Routine Stop Became a Comedy Show

The police officer expected a standard speeding ticket when he pulled over the sedan. He didn’t expect the comedy routine that followed. “License and registration?” The driver sighed dramatically. “Well… I don’t actually have a license. Got it taken away – four times for DUIs.”

As the officer’s eyes widened, she continued cheerfully, “And this car? Totally stolen.” She leaned in conspiratorially. “Had to kill the owner first. Messy business.” The officer immediately called for backup.

Soon, half the police force had arrived on scene. The sergeant demanded answers. “Ma’am, are you saying you committed murder?” She blinked in confusion. “Murder? Who said anything about murder?”

After a thorough search turned up nothing, she suddenly produced a valid license. “Oh THIS old thing?” she laughed. “That rookie cop has quite the imagination, doesn’t he? First speeding, now murder charges!”

The officers exchanged glances. They’d been had – and it was the most entertaining shift they’d had in years.
