Whoopi Goldberg has a message for critics who want “The View” gone: The show isn’t going anywhere.
The longtime cohost addressed conservative backlash against the talk show, particularly after discussions about polarizing topics like transgender rights and political rivalries. Goldberg pushed back on the idea that the panelists force their views on viewers, arguing instead that the show thrives on open dialogue.
“People think they know what I believe, but they don’t,” Goldberg said. “The beauty of this show is that we don’t tell you what to think—we tell you what we think, and then we talk about it.”
Her remarks followed a tense exchange between cohosts Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin, who clashed over Griffin’s past work in the Trump administration. Griffin accused Hostin of making things personal, a criticism Goldberg acknowledged but dismissed as part of passionate debate.
“People want us off the air because they don’t like hearing different opinions,” Goldberg said. “But that’s exactly why we’re here—to have the conversation, not shut it down.”
Despite the drama, Goldberg insists the show stays true to its original purpose: giving women a platform to speak freely, even when they disagree.
